We were caught on a Tuesday night where most of the venues ranked higher on Trip Advisor were closed so we gave the Empire a shot. What a great find. New owners have put together a great dining experience which was way above our expectations. This restaurant will shoot up the Trip Advisor rankings quickly.
AMAZING bar snacks!!
Perfect place to enjoy a drink and have some top notch nibbles with friends! We particularly loved the Pulled Pork Sliders and Beetle Leaf with Smoked Trout both with beautiful, light Thai/Viet flavours. Best tasting food in Beechworth! Next time: definitely going to try the restaurant proper for dinner
Food amazing, service impeccable. I have eaten here twice and the standard of fare is wonderful. Well worth it.
Had dinner there and shared the great tapas style food. We totally loved all the food we ordered. All meals were stacked with a heap of flavour. We enjoyed the chipolata sausages, bourbon chicken drumettes, pulled pork sliders, onion rings and fries. We had great selection of local craft beers to choose from.The staff were friendly. Will definitely be back.
What a great bar and restaurant! We had a wonderful meal and loved the totally transformed Empire. So lucky to have such a talented team in our town. Will be back again soon.

Top Notch Restaurant in Beechworth
Just been to the restaurant in the Empire Hotel in Beechworth - and what a treat! Food with real finesse - my lamb rump was so good and the accompanying pomegranate and almond salad was so tasty. My husband’s macadamia crusted ocean was also good. This was washed down with a local Primitivo which was pleasant.
And then we tried the desserts - cherry bombe for me and summer pudding for my husband. Both were yum!!
So great spot to eat in this very pretty historical town.
Outstanding food and great service
We had originally intended to grab a pub meal but then decided to see if they could fit us into the restaurant. Despite being a Friday night and very busy the staff were very accommodating and before long we had a table. The service was impeccable and the food delightful. The lamb rump was beautifully cooked with great Moroccan flavourings in the accompanying vegetables. My husband was equally pleased with the steak.
We treated ourselves to great deserts. The local wine recommended of Eldorado Shiraz was terrific.
